) TO PROVIDE SUCH YEARLY SUM TO BE DETERMINED BY THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME TO BE APPLIED IN PROVIDING A SCHOLARSHIP OR SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE CALLED THE JOHN AVIS SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS WHICH SHALL BE TENABLE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM FOR A PERIOD OF NOT MORE THAN THREE YEARS BY PUPILS OR FORMER PUPILS OF ANY SECONDARY SCHOOL IN BIRMINGHAM AND SURROUNDING AREA AND SHALL BE COMPETED FOR, GRANTED AND HELD UPON SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME APPROVE. 2) TO PROVIDE SUCH YEARLY SUM TO BE DETERMINED BY THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME TO BE APPLIED IN PROVIDING A SCHOLARSHIP OR SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE CALLED THE ELIZA AVINS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP OR THE ELIZA AVINS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS WHICH SHALL BE TENABLE AT ANY INSTITUTION GIVING SYSTEMATIC INSTRUCTION IN MUSIC FOR A PERIOD OF NOT MORE THAN THREE YEARS BY PUPILS OR FORMER PUPILS OF ANY SCHOOL IN BIRMINGHAM AND SURROUNDING AREA AND SHALL BE COMPETED FOR, GRANTED AND HELD UPON SUCH CONDITIONS AS THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME APPROVE.
