THE CHARITY'S PRINCIPAL PURPOSE IS THE PRESERVATION OF HMS CAVALIER (1944), THE LAST SECOND WORLD WAR DESTROYER OF THE ROYAL NAVY, AT THE HISTORIC DOCKYARD CHATHAM, AS A MEMORIAL TO THE MANY SUCH SHIPS AND THEIR CREWS WHO WERE LOST DURING THAT CRITICAL PERIOD OF OUR HISTORY, AND TO INTERPRET HER FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION AND BENEFIT.
