THE PURPOSES OF THE COMPANY ARE: 1. TO CARRY OUT RESEARCH INTO AND TO MAKE GRANTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESEARCH INTO AND PROMOTE BY ALL AVAILABLE MEANS THE STUDY OF DISEASE IN RELATION TO THE EYE AND ALLIED SUBJECTS AND GENERALLY TO IMPROVE THE STANDARD OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE MEANS OF PREVENTION DIAGNOSIS AND METHODS OF TREATMENT AND CURE THEREOF; 2. TO INITIATE ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT BASIC SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN OPHTHALMOLOGY AND INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSES OF EYE DISEASES AND THE POSSIBILITIES OF PREVENTION ALLEVIATION AND CURE.
