Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE: 1) TO ADVANCE THE HEALTH OF POLICE OFFICERS AND FORMER POLICE OFFICERS THROUGH THE PROVISION OF GRANTS FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT; 2) TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO POLICE OFFICERS, FORMER POLICE OFFICERS, MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILIES OR OTHER DEPENDENTS WHERE ANY SUCH INDIVIDUALS ARE IN NEED, WHETHER BECAUSE OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE; 3) TO PREVENT AND RELIEVE POVERTY AMONG POLICE OFFICERS, FORMER POLICE OFFICERS, MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILIES OR OTHER DEPENDENTS; 4) TO PROMOTE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE POLICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION: 4.1) THROUGH THE FUNDING OF PROGRAMMES TO IMPROVE THE WELFARE OF THE POLICE; 4.2) THROUGH THE FUNDING OF RESEARCH INTO MEASURES TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENT OPERATION OF THE POLICE FORCE; 4.3) OR THROUGH THE FUNDING OF EVENTS OR ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY COHESION OR TO IMPROVE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE POLICE AND COMMUNITIES OR THE PUBLIC AS A WHOLE; 5) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC REGARDING THE ROLE OF THE POLICE IN SOCIETY AND THE HISTORY OF THE POLICE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM; AND 6) ANY OTHER PURPOSES WHATSOEVER THAT ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE UNDER THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES
