THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS THE PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF GOOD HEALTH AMONG PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM MITOCHONDRIAL DISEASE, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING INFORMATION, ADVICE AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO SUCH PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS.
