THE OBJECT OF THE SOCIETY IS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN THE DRAMATIC AND OPERATIC ARTS TO FURTHER THE DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC APPRECIATION AND TASTE IN THE SAID ARTS; AND IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE SOCIETY THROUGH ITS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING POWERS: A) TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION IN HAVERING, THE SURROUNDING BOROUGHS, ESSEX AND GREATER LONDON THROUGH THE PRESENTATION AND PROMOTION OF MUSICALS, CONCERTS, OPERAS, OPERETTAS AND OTHER MUSICAL AND OPERATIC WORKS; B) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN THE DRAMATIC ARTS THROUGH MEMBERSHIP OF THE SOCIETY AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM IN MUSICALS, CONCERTS, OPERAS, OPERETTAS AND OTHER MUSICAL AND OPERATIC WORKS, FOR ADULTS AND, WHERE APPROPRIATE, CHILDREN OF HAVERING, THE SURROUNDING BOROUGHS, ESSEX AND GREATER LONDON.
