Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO NAMED US ARE: (1) TO ADVANCE THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN NORTHUMBERLAND AND TYNE AND WEAR AGED BETWEEN 14 AND 25 YEARS WHO EXPERIENCE OR ARE AT RISK OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND/OR NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS (AND THEIR PARENTS/CARERS) BY SUCH CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: - ENGAGING WITH THEM IN AMATEUR SPORTS AND OTHER PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES) THAT HAVE A PROVEN BENEFICIAL EFFECT ON PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH; AND - THROUGH THE PROVISION (OR SUPPORTING THE PROVISION) OF HEALTHY EATING AND COOKING WORKSHOPS; WITH THE AIM OF IMPROVING THEIR: QUALITY OF LIFE; MENTAL AND PHYSICAL GOOD HEALTH; EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCE AND EMPLOYABILITY; AND BY HELPING THEM DEVELOP POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS; RAISING AND IMPROVING THEIR SELF-ESTEEM, HAPPINESS AND PLEASURE FROM UNDERTAKING SUCH ACTIVITIES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT. (2) TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR, RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF AND HELP YOUNG PEOPLE (AGED BETWEEN 14 AND 25 YEARS) BY PLAYING AN ACTIVE PART IN THE LONG AND SHORT TERM PLANNING AND DELIVERY OF CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES FOR THEIR BENEFIT IN ORDER TO DEVELOP THEIR ORGANISATIONAL AND PRACTICAL SKILLS, WHILST ENSURING THAT THOSE PLANNED ACTIVITIES MEET THEIR NEEDS (AS BENEFICIARIES) SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE A POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION TO FAMILY AND COMMUNITY LIFE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE.
