THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT: 1.THE ELIMINATION OF SLAVERY, HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND ALL FORMS OF UNLAWFUL FORCED LABOUR AND UNLAWFUL DEPRIVATION OF FREEDOM; 2.THE RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN SUCH WAYS AS MAY BE THOUGHT FIT, INCLUDING ASSISTANCE TO FIND EMPLOYMENT; 3.THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT BY: (A)THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE PRUDENT USE OF RESOURCES; (B)THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES; (C)THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF ACHIEVING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGENERATION. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT MEANS “DEVELOPMENT WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS”. AND IN ALL CASES IN PURSUANCE OF GLOBAL GOAL 8 OF THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN SUCH WAYS AS ARE CHARITABLE UNDER THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES.
