Activities - how the charity spends its money
OpenBright was registered as a charity in 2020. From Autumn 2021, we plan to offer small grants to help women develop university-level research projects in computing and IT-related subjects. Our grants will be aimed at students studying for UK-based degrees or postgraduate qualifications in software engineering, creative/social technologies, robotics or related areas.

FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT,TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF WOMEN OF ANY AGE IN THE FIELDS OF COMPUTING, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ANY RELATED OR ANCILLARY SUBJECTS OF STUDY IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY: (1) AWARDING TO SUCH WOMEN SCHOLARSHIPS, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE AT ANY UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OR INSTITUTION OF HIGHER OR FURTHER EDUCATION. (2) ENABLING WOMEN TO UNDERTAKE TRAVEL IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT EDUCATION OR TO PREPARE FOR ENTRY TO ANY OCCUPATION, TRADE OR PROFESSION ON LEAVING ANY EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT.
