TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF THE ELDERLY AND TO RELIEVE OLD AGE SICKNESS AND INFIRMITY IN ANY MANNER WHICH IS NOW OR HEREAFTER MAY BE DEEMED BY LAW TO BE CHARITABLE, AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING), BY THE PROVISION OF A TRANSPORT SERVICE BY VOLUNTARY CAR DRIVERS TO HOSPITALS AND OTHER MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS FOR TREATMENT AND VISITING WHERE PUBLIC SERVICES ARE UNSUITABLE, BY THE DELIVERY OF A MEALS-ON-WHEELS SERVICE AND BY THE ARRANGING OF LUNCH CLUBS, AND IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS BUT NOT FURTHER OR OTHERWISE THE CHARITY SHALL HAVE POWER: TO RAISE FUNDS AND TO INVITE AND RECEIVE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ANY PERSONS OR ORGANISATIONS BY WAY OF DONATION AND OTHERWISE PROVIDED THAT THE CHARITY SHALL NOT UNDERTAKE ANY PERMANENT TRADING ACTIVITIES IN RAISING FUNDS FOR ITS PRIMARY CHARITABLE OBJECTS TO ENCOURAGE AWARENESS OF THE NEEDS OF OTHER PEOPLE AND IN SITUATIONS REQUIRING LONG TERM HELP TO PROVIDE NEIGHBOURLY ASSISTANCE TO DO ALL SUCH THINGS AS NECESSARY FOR THE ATTAINMENT OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS
