The objects of the CIO are to advance the art of music for the public benefit, and to promote, sustain and increase individual and collective knowledge of music (in particular through jazz and improvisation) - including but not limited to the music of Charles Mingus - by providing public performances, educational workshops and other such means as the organisation, through its board of trustees.
