Charitable objects
3.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO (OBJECTS) ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND IN PARTICULAR THE INHABITANTS OF ENGLAND: 3.1.1 TO PROVIDE RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE IN NEED BY MEANS OF ILL-HEALTH OR DISABILITY (A) BY MAKING GRANTS THAT FUND OR SUPPORT THEIR ACCESS TO AND PARTICIPATION IN THE SPORT OF FOOTBALL AND (B) BY SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY THINK FIT; AND 3.1.2 TO PROVIDE RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE TO PEOPLE IN NEED BY MEANS OF POVERTY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES (A) BY MAKING GRANTS THAT FUND OR SUPPORT THEIR ACCESS TO AND PARTICIPATION IN THE SPORT OF FOOTBALL AND (B) BY SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES MAY THINK FIT; AND 3.1.3 TO FURTHER ANY OTHER PURPOSES WHICH ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES BY SUCH CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY THE MAKING OF GRANTS TO SUPPORT CHARITIES IN THE FURTHERANCE OF THEIR CHARITABLE OBJECTS.
