Barton Heritage Trust exists to manage and maintain historic properties donated to it and to use the income from letting out these properties (along with funds donated to the Trust), for grants given by the Trust for charitable projects and activities which support the preservation of historic buildings or sites in the town and promote people's understanding, enjoyment and care of local heritage.

Charitable objects
(1) TO PRESERVE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PEOPLE OF BARTON UPON HUMBER, IN NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE AND THE NATION AT LARGE WHATEVER OF THE HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL, CONSTRUCTIONAL AND NATURAL OR SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE MAY EXIST IN OR NEAR TO THAT AREA (IN THE FORM OF BUILDINGS OF PARTICULAR BEAUTY OR HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL OR CONSTRUCTIONAL INTEREST OR ANCIENT MONUMENTS AND OTHERWISE AS SHALL BE CONSISTENT WITH THESE OBJECTS). (2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE SAID HERITAGE AND TO UNDERTAKE SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES AS MAY BENEFIT THE PEOPLE OF OR VISITORS TO THE SAID AREA.
