(B) CONVENING SYMPOSIA, WORKSHOPS AND CONFERENCES TO BRING TOGETHER THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY CONCERNED WITH ASPECTS OF SEA LEVEL RISE AND ADAPTATION TO ITS IMPACTS TO HELP INFORM POLICY MAKERS AND STAKEHOLDERS WITH A RESPONSIBILITY FOR COASTAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND THE COASTAL ENVIRONMENT AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE SOCIETAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH RISING SEA LEVELS AND THE OPPORTUNITIES TO SAVE LIVES AND BETTER PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT.
