3) THE NATIONAL COUNCIL IS ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF PALLIATIVE CARE GENERALLY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND ELSEWHERE IN THE WORLD AND IN PARTICULAR: 3.1) TO PROMOTE THE PROVISION OF PALLIATIVE CARE THROUGH THOSE ORGANISATIONS, INSTITUTIONS, SOCIETIES AND BODIES ENGAGED IN OR OTHERWISE CONCERNED WITH GENERAL, HOSPICE AND SPECIALIST PALLIATIVE CARE INCLUDING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND OTHER GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES AND OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES; 3.2) TO INITIATE AND CO-ORDINATE ALL SUCH ACTS AND THINGS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COMMISSIONING AND PROVISION OF GENERAL, HOSPICE AND SPECIALIST PALLIATIVE CARE SERVICES; 3.3) TO PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE AND UNDERTAKE ALL SUCH ACTS AND THINGS DIRECTED TO IMPROVING THE FACILITIES, RESOURCES AND PERSONAL SKILLS DEDICATED TO THE COMMISSIONING AND PROVISION OF GENERAL, HOSPICE AND SPECIALIST PALLIATIVE CARE SERVICES.
