TO ANY TEACHER OR TEACHERS OF DAME ALICE OWEN'S SCHOOL, POTTERS BAR, INJ THE COUNTY OF HERTFORDSHIRE IN RECOGNITION OF AND AS A REWARD FOR SERVICES RENDERED BY THEM TO THE SAID SCHOOL AND IN PARTICULAR TO MARK BY SUCH A GRANT ANY SPECIAL OR OUTSTANDING SERVICE RENDERED TO THE SCHOOL OR THE COMPLETION OF WHAT IN THE OPINION OF THE MASTER WARDENS AND COMMONALTY OF THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF BREWERS IN LONDON HAS BEEN A LONG PERIOD OF DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE SAID SCHOOL PROVIDED THAT NO GRANT SHALL BE MADE WHICH IN EFFECT WOULD BE IN RELIEF OF RATE OR TAXES OR DISCHARGE OF EXPENSES WHICH WOULD OTHETRWISE BE BORNE IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY PUBLIC OR OTHER PRIVATE FUNDS IT BEING THE TESTATOR'S INTENTION THAT THR GRANT SHALL CONFER A BENEFIT UPON THE RECIPIENT OF THE GRANT CORRESPONDING TO THE AMOUNT OF IT SUBJECT ONLY TO ANY PERSONAL LIABILITY OF THE RECIPIENT FOR INCOME TAX OR OTHERWISE.
