3.1 ‘The relief of persons who are in need, hardship or distress and who are either:
Widows or dependants of former members (whether alive or dead) of the Armed Forces of the Crown; or
Widows or dependants of other persons who have been killed or incapacitated in or through war or civil disaster or other exceptional circumstances; or
Former members of the Armed Forces of the Crown; or
Retired members of the nursing profession
3.2 The relief of persons in need who are sick, convalescent, disabled, or infirm by relieving their suffering or assisting their recovery’.
