To pay or apply the annual income thereof as and when received to or for the purposes of such one or more charities and charitable institutions registered in England and Wales in such proportion and such manner as the Trustees shall in their absolute discretion from time to time determine and in particular (but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) charities that operate in or provide a benefit to the town of Southport and the surrounding area
