3.1 The Charity's objects (the Objects) are for the benefit of the public generally, both in the United Kingdom and overseas: 3.1.1 to promote community participation in healthy recreation, in particular by the provision of facilities for the playing of football and other sports capable of improving health (“facilities” in this Article 3 means land, buildings, equipment and organising sporting activities); 3.1.2 to provide and assist in providing facilities for sport, recreation or other leisure time occupation of such persons who have need for such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interest of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life; 3.1.3 to advance the education of the public in the subject of physical education, literacy, numeracy, personal social and health education and leisure and tourism; 3.1.4 to promote for the benefit of the public urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation (and in particular in London and the Lea Valley area) by all or any of the following means: 3.1.4.1 the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly among unemployed people, and providing unemployed people with work experience; 3.1.4.2 the promotion of public safety and prevention of crime; and 3.1.4.3 such other means as may from time to time be determined subject to the prior written consent of the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales; 3.1.5 to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the disadvantaged community of London and the Lea Valley in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society; and 3.1.6 for the general purposes of such charitable bodies or for such other exclusively charitable purposes in each case as the Trustees may from time to time decide in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
