1) TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN ABINGTON PARK OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES OR FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS; AND 2)TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE HISTORICAL FEATURES IN ABINGTON PARK. (3} ABINGTON PARK, NORTHAMPTON “ABINGTON PARK” MEANS THE FREEHOLD OF ABINGTON PARK BEING THE CURRENT HOLDING OF LAND PURCHASED OR GIVEN TO THE CURRENT OWNER NORTHAMPTON BOROUGH COUNCIL BETWEEN 1895 AND 1903 AND COMPRISES THE ROAD FRONTAGES IN A CLOCKWISE DIRECTION OF: UPPER PARK – ARDINGTON ROAD, WELLINGBOROUGH ROAD, PARK AVENUE SOUTH AND CHRISTCHURCH ROAD AND LOWER PARK – PARK AVENUE SOUTH, WELLINGBOROUGH ROAD, THE REAR GARDEN BOUNDARIES OF LARGE HOUSES FRONTING WELLINGBOROUGH ROAD AND ABINGTON PARK CRESCENT.
