THE OBJECT(S) OF THE CIO ARE: TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIOURAL DIFFICULTIES PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY RELATED TO EXPERIENCES OF GRIEF AND LOSS; LOW MOOD, LOW SELF-ESTEEM; ANGER; STRESS AND ANXIETY; CHILDHOOD TRAUMA; DOMESTIC VIOLENCE; EATING DISORDERS AND SELF-HARM. TO ACHIEVE THIS AIM FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CHARITY ARE FOCUSSED ON PROVIDING: (1) PSYCHOLOGICAL INFORMATION ABOUT HOW THESE ISSUES AFFECT CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE TO THESE INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR PARENTS/CARERS, TEACHERS AND OTHERS WORKING WITH THEM TO INCREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND CAPACITY TO RESPOND IN WAYS THAT ARE MENTAL HEALTH- AND TRAUMA-INFORMED; AND (2) 1:1 PASTORAL MENTORING AND BESPOKE INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COURSES TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WHICH EMPLOY COUNSELLING SKILLS; CREATIVE ACTIVITIES; AND SOLUTION FOCUSED AND COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOURAL STRATEGIES TO RELIEVE THEIR DISTRESS; ADVANCE THEIR SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SKILLS; AND FACILITATE THE GROWTH OF THEIR RESILIENCE. THE CHARITY OFFERS ITS ACTIVITIES TO ALL PEOPLE OF ANY FAITH OR NONE AND DOES SO IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES AND UNCONDITIONAL POSITIVE REGARD, RESPECT AND EMPATHY. THE CHARITY UNDERTAKES THESE ACTIVITIES AS PART OF ITS SUPPORT TO SCHOOLS AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IN SOLIHULL, THE WEST MIDLANDS AND IN SUCH OTHER PARTS OF THE UK OR THE WORLD AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT AND TO FULFIL SUCH PURPOSES WHICH ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE, THEIR FAMILIES AND THOSE WORKING WITH THEM. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
