THE PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH IS THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH PRIMARILY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY AMONG PEOPLE OF CHINESE ORIGIN IN THE CANTERBURY AREA IN ENGLAND ACCORDING TO THE HISTORIC CHRISTIAN FAITH AS SET FORTH IN THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS AND AS SUMMARISED IN THE APOSTLES' CREED. THE CHURCH MAY ALSO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND FULFIL OTHER CHARITABLE OBJECTS CONSISTENT WITH THE BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND/OR OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD. (PLEASE SEE APPENDIX ONE FOR 'THE BELIEFS OF THE CHURCH'.) IN FULFILLING THE PURPOSE THE CHURCH WILL ENGAGE IN A RANGE OF ACTIVITIES EITHER ON ITS OWN OR WITH OTHERS THAT WILL VARY FROM TIME TO TIME WITH ACTIVITIES BEING INITIATED, EXPANDED, OR CLOSED, AS APPROPRIATE. THESE ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO: (A) REGULAR PUBLIC WORSHIP, PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY, PREACHING AND TEACHING; (B) BAPTISMAL SERVICE; (C) THE HOLY COMMUNION OF THE LORD?S SUPPER WHICH SHALL NORMALLY BE OBSERVED AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH; (D) EVANGELISM AND MISSION LOCALLY, BUT ALSO REGIONALLY, NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY; (E) THE TEACHING, ENCOURAGEMENT, WELCOME AND INCLUSION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE; (F) NURTURE AND GROWTH OF CHRISTIAN DISCIPLES; (G) EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR CHRISTIAN AND COMMUNITY SERVICE; (H) GIVING AND ENCOURAGING PASTORAL CARE, SUCH AS IN FAMILY MINISTRY THROUGH WHICH FAMILIES WHO ARE OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO CONNECT MAY BE REACHED OUT; (I) SUPPORTING AND ENCOURAGING CHARITABLE SOCIAL ACTIONS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND ABROAD; (J) ENCOURAGING RELATIONSHIPS WITH AND SUPPORTING OTHER CHRISTIANS. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CHURCH FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
