THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 1) THE PROMOTION OF THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF CHARITIES AND THE EFFECTIVE USE OF CHARITABLE RESOURCES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROVIDING SUPPORT AND SERVICES TO DOG RESCUE ORGANISATIONS ACROSS THE UK WHICH OPERATE AS CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, AND IN PARTICULAR BY: A) PROVIDING A WEBSITE, DESIGNED TO ENHANCE VISIBILITY, FACILITATE RESOURCE SHARING AND PROMOTE COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS OF DOG RESCUE ORGANISATIONS; B) PROVIDING FUNDRAISING SUPPORT DESIGNED TO ASSIST DOG RESCUES IN THE UK IN ORGANISING AND PROMOTING EFFECTIVE FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES; C) PROVIDING CONSULTATION AND BEST PRACTICES GUIDANCE ON THE OPERATION OF EFFECTIVE RESCUE ORGANISATIONS; D) PROVIDING SUPPORT WITH THE COORDINATION OF TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS FOR RESCUE STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE: ‘CHARITIES’ ARE ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES; ‘VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS’ ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES. 2) FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC TO PROMOTE HUMANE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS DOGS AND TO RELIEVE THE SUFFERING OF DOGS IN IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION BY REASON OF SICKNESS, MALTREATMENT, POOR CIRCUMSTANCES OR ILL USAGE, IN PARTICULAR BY SUPPORTING DOG RESCUE ORGANISATIONS ACROSS THE UK THROUGH GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF LEGISLATION THAT BENEFITS THE RESCUE AND WELFARE OF DOGS.
