The relief of children, and by extension their families/carers, in need by reason of ill-health, disability (mental or physical), financial hardship or other social disadvantage resulting from being in the care of local authorities as a looked after child at any point in their lives, through the provision of grants of financial assistance to obtain such items, services, activities and support.
