THE PROVISION OF THREE LEAVING SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE HELD AT ANY UNIVERSITY OR UNIVERSITIES WITHIN THE BRITISH EMPIRE IN SUCH MANNER AND ON SUCH CONDITIONS GENERALLY AS TE GOVERNORS SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE BUT SO THAT THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS SHALL BE FUNDAMENTAL AND BINDING ON THE GOVERNERS.I) THE SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL BE THREE IN NUMBER. II) THE SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL BE CALLED 'LONGMAN SCHOLARSHIPS'. III) ONLY BOYS SHALL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHPS. IV) ONE SCHOLARSHIP ONLY SHALL BE AWARDED IN EACH YEAR AND SHALL BE TENABLE FOR THREE YEARS. V) THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND POUNDS SHALL BE APPROPIRATED TO PROVIDING BY THE INCOME OF EACH SUM OF ONOLARSHIP. VI) THE INCOME OF EACH SUM OF ONE THOUSAND POUNDS NOT REQUIRED FOR PROVIDING A SCHOLARSHIP SHALL BE ACCUMULATED AND ADDED TO THE CAPITAL OF THE SUM FROM WHICH THE SAME HAS ARISEN AND THIS PROVISION SHALL INCLUDE THE CASE OF A SCHOLARSHIP BEING RELINQUISHED BY REASON OF DEATH, ILLNESS OR MISCONDUCT OF THE HOLDER OR FROM ANY OTHER CAUSE. VII) THE ELECTION TO A SCHOLARSHIP SHALL NEVER BE SUPENDED ON THE GROUNDS OF NO BOY HAVING A SUFFICIENT STANDARD OF SCHOLARSHIP.
