THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED BY VIRTUE OF AGE, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, DISABILITY OR ILL-HEALTH BY THE FREE PROVISION OF PRACTICAL SUPPORT, PRIMARILY IN THE FORM OF FOOD AND INFORMATION ABOUT OTHER CHARITIES, VOLUNTARY AGENCIES AND STATUTORY AGENCIES THAT MAY BE ABLE TO HELP TO RESOLVE UNDERLYING, LONG-TERM ISSUES, AND ALSO IN THE FORM OF OTHER GOODS THAT MAY BECOME AVAILABLE TO THE FOODBANK. THE AREA TO BE COVERED BY THE FOODBANK LIES BETWEEN THE RIVER AVON RUNNING ALONG THE NORTH-EAST EDGE AND THE CONGRESBURY YEO TO THE SOUTH. IT INCLUDES THE THREE MAIN TOWNS OF CLEVEDON ON THE WEST COAST, NAILSEA TO THE SOUTH, AND PORTISHEAD TO THE NORTH, ALONG WITH SMALLER SURROUNDING VILLAGES SUCH AS BACKWELL, EASTON-IN-GORDANO, AND YATTON.
