1.TO RELIEVE THE SICKNESS AND DISABILITY AND PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE HEALTH OF NEW-BORN INFANTS OF LOW BIRTH -WEIGHT. 2.TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE MEDICAL PROFESSION, THE NURSING PROFESSION AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AND PARTICULARLY THE PARENTS OF SUCH CHILDREN CONCERNING LOW BIRTH-WEIGHT, ITS CAUSES AND EFFECTS. 3.TO PROMOTE OR ASSIST IN THE PROMOTION OF RESEARCH INTO CAUSES, PREVENTION, ALLEVIATION AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH ILL HEALTH AND DISABILITY AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
