PRIMARILY TO PROVIDE ANNUITES FOR PERSONS OF GOOD CHARACTER IN REDUCED CIRCUMSTANCES OR OF LIMITED MEANS, WHO SHALL HAVE RESIDED IN THE CITY OR COUNTY OF NOTTINGHAM FOR NOT LESS THAN FIVE YEARS NEXT PRECEDING THE TIME OF THE APPOINTMENT. SECONDLEY TO PROVIDE HOMES FOR GENTLEFOLK OF GOOD CHARACTER WHO ARE IN REDUCED CIRCUMSTANCES OR OF LIMITED MEANS AND WHO HAVE BEEN RESIDENT IN THE CITY OR COUNTY OF NOTTINGHAM FOR NOT LESS THAN FIVE YEARES NEXT PRECEDING THE TIME OF THEIR APPOINTMENT AND MAY BE SUCH AS ARE AGED AND UNABLE WHOLLY TO LOOK AFTER THEMSELVES.
