Activities - how the charity spends its money
Beneficiaries must be persons (children, young people or older people) who are sick and impecunious and who reside within the districts of the Barnard Castle Town and Teesdale District councils. The trustees need to know the applicant's age, address, occupation and/or former occupation, whether living alone and whether in receipt of benefits. One-off grants of up to -ú50 are paid.

FOR THE BENEFIT AND ASSISTANCE OF PERSONS WHO ARE SICK (INCLUDING WOMEN IN CHILDBED) LAME, INFIRM, IMBECILE, BLIND, DEAF, AND DUMB OR OTHERWISE AFFLICTED OF ALL CREEDS AND CLASSES AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TRUSTEES BUT PRIMARILY BY MEANS OR GRANTS IN AID OF THE FUNDS OF HOSPITALS, ASYLUMS, DISPENSARIES NURSING ASSOCIATIONS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS AND ORGANISATIONS AS IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES MAKE PROVISION FOR THE ASSISTANCE OF PERSONS FOR WHOSE BENEFIT THE CHARITY IS INTENDED.
