TO ADVANCE THE MUSICAL EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES IN THE SOUTHAMPTON REGION, BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES AND FUNDS FOR THE SOUTHAMPTON YOUTH ORCHESTRAS WHICH ARE NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL.
