TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF BRIGHTON AND HOVE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA AND IN PARTICULAR TO RELIEVE POVERTY AND SICKNESS, TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT PUBLIC HEALTH, TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR THE RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF THE SAID INHABITANTS WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE.
