THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION BY THE MAKING OF AWARDS TO SCIENTISTS UNDER THE AGE OF TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS AT THE DATE OF THE AWARD OF ANY NATIONALITY AND AT ANY STAGE OF THEIR CAREER AND WHETHER OR NOT THET ARE MEMBERS OF THE GEOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF LONDON AND WHO PROPOSE TO ENGAGE OR ARE ENGAGED IN A FIELD PROJECT FOR RESEARCH IN EARTH SCIENCE UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL AS AWARD BE MADE FOR ANY RESEARCH CONNECTED WITH MILITARY ACTIVITY OR DEVELOPMENT.
