Charitable objects
(A) IN PROMOTING THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF PERSONS WHO ARE RESIDENT IN THE TOWN OF BURTON LATIMER AND WHO ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING WAYS: (1) IN AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES AND MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE AT ANY SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OF EDUCATION OR OTHER INSTITUTION OF FURTHER (INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL) EDUCATION APPROVED FOR THE PURPOSE BY THE TRUSTEES; (2) IN PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, OUTFITS, CLOTHING, TOOLS, INSTRUMENTS OR BOOKS TO ASSIST SUCH PERSONS TO PURSUE THEIR EDUCATION (INCLUDING THE STUDY OF MUSIC AND THE OTHER ARTS), TO UNDERTAKE TRAVEL IN FURTHERANCE THEREOF, AND TO PREPARE FOR OR ENTER A PROFESSION, TRADE, OCCUPATION OR SERVICE ON LEAVING SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY OR OTHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT; (3) IN PROVIDING FACILITIES NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY FOR RECREATION AND SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING FOR SUCH PERSONS WHO ARE RECEIVING PRIMARY, SECONDARY OR FURTHER EDUCATION; (B) IN OR TOWARDS FOR ANY SCHOOL OR COLLEGE SUBSTANTIALLY SERVING THE SAID TOWN OF BURTON LATIMER WHICH THE GOVERNORS OF THE SCHOOL OR COLLEGE CONCERNED ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE FROM THEIR BUDGET ALLOCATION OR FROM OTHER PUBLIC MONIES AVAILABLE TO THEM
