TO PURSUE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF MIDDLETON-IN-TEESDALE AND UPPER TEESDALE IN THE COUNTY OF DURHAM, AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) THE ENHANCEMENT AND PRESERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT, THE RELIEF OF POVERTY, THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING, THE PROVISION OF LEISURE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE, AND THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH AND THE PROMOTION OF URBAN AND RURAL REGENERATION THROUGH THE PERSEVATION OF BUILDINGS OR SITES OF HISTORIC OR ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE, THE MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT OR PROVISION OF PUBLIC FACILITIES AND THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES AND CHILDCARE AND THE PROMOTION OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND THE PREVENTION OF CRIME.
