MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED ON 2 NOVEMBER 1999 AS AMENDED BY SPECIAL RESOLUTION ON 12 JUNE 2000
Charitable objects
FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF WAYLAND (WAYLAND COMPRISING THE PARISH OF WATTON AND NEIGHBOURING PARISHES AND IN THESE OBJECTS IS CALLED "THE AREA OF BENEFIT"): (1) TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. (2) TO RELIEVE UNEMPLOYMENT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN SUCH WAYS AS MAY BE THOUGHT FIT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT, INCLUDING ASSISTANCE TO FIND EMPLOYMENT. (3) TO PROVIDE AND ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECTS OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THOSE PERSONS FOR WHOM THE FACILITIES ARE INTENDED. (4) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TRAINING. (5) TO IMPROVE AND BEAUTIFY THE TOWN OF WATTON AND SUCH OTHER PLACES IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT AS THE CHARITY MAY DECIDE WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT PROVIDED THAT IN SO DOING THE CHARITY SHALL NOT RELIEVE ANY LOCAL AUTHORITY OR OTHER BODY OF ITS STATUTORY OBLIGATIONS. (6) TO PROVIDE AND TO ASSIST IN THE PROVISION, MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT OF HOUSING, TRANSPORT AND OTHER SERVICES FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEED OF THEM PROVIDED THAT IN SO DOING THE CHARITY SHALL NOT RELIEVE ANY LOCAL AUTHORITY OR OTHER BODY OF ITS STATUTORY OBLIGATIONS IN PROVIDING SUCH SERVICES. (7) TO FURTHER SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT AS THE CHARITY MAY DECIDE.
