Charitable objects
1. TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF GREATER READING - IN PARTICULAR, THOSE PEOPLE LIVING THE KATESGROVE, ABBEY AND WHITLEY WARDS OF READING - WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID INHABITANTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE OR THOSE WHO BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE OR INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, POVERTY OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES, HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES, WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS. 2. THE RELIEF OF ILLNESS, SICKNESS AND SUFFERING OF PHYSICALLY DISABLED PERSONS. 3. THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, TRAINING OR RE-TRAINING, PARTICULARLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, OF: (A) CHILDREN AGED BETWEEN SIX MONTHS AND FIVE YEARS BY THE PROVISION OF A DAY NURSERY (B) UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE. 4. TO PROMOTE SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS MAY, FROM TIME TO TIME, BE DETERMINED. 5. THE ABOVE OBJECTS SHALL BE UNDERTAKEN WITH A VIEW TO ASSISTING AND PROMOTING THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC REGENERATION OF THE KATESGROVE, ABBEY AND WHITLEY WARDS OF READING.
