(2) THE RELIEF OF PERSONS IN NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS WHO ARE EITHER: (A) SERVING OR FORMER SERVING PERSONNEL OF THE CORPS; OR (B) THE DEPENDANTS , WIVES, WIDOWS (WHETHER REMARRIED OR NOT) OR CHILDREN OF SUCH PERSONS.
