Charitable objects
TO PROMOTE THE ARTS AND, IN PARTICULAR, LITERATURE IN SOCIETY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE NORTH WEST AREA OF ENGLAND (BY WHICH EXPRESSION IS MEANT THE COUNTIES OF CHESHIRE, LANCASHIRE, MERSEYSIDE, GREATER MANCHESTER AND THE HIGH PEAK DISTRICT OF DERBYSHIRE) AND ELSEWHERE BY DEVELOPING PUBLIC APPRECIATION OF LITERATURE AND BY PROVIDING PUBLIC ACCESS TO AND THE QUALITY OF LITERATURE AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) BY:- A) HOLDING LITERATURE FESTIVALS AND EVENTS AND, IN PARTICULAR, A "MANCHESTER LITERATURE FESTIVAL" ANNUALLY; B) HOLDING OTHER LITERATURE EVENTS AND EVENTS THAT COMBINE LITERATURE WITH OTHER ART FORMS EITHER ANNUALLY OR AT ANY OTHER TIME; C) INVITING, COMMISSIONING AND MAINTAINING SERVICES OF WRITERS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD WHETHER SUCH SERVICES REQUIRE THE PAYMENT OF FEES BY THE COMPANY OR OTHERWISE; D) ENCOURAGING AND ASSISTING IN PROMOTING AND ADVANCING WRITERS FROM THE NORTH WEST OF ENGLAND. E) PUBLISHING LITERATURE AND RECORDINGS OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER PROVIDING THAT IN SO DOING SUCH PUBLICATIONS COMPLY WITH ALL RELEVANT LAWS; F) DISSEMINATING INFORMATION, LITERATURE AND RECORDINGS RELATING TO ANY FESTIVALS HELD BY THE COMPANY OR IN WHICH THE COMPANY PARTICIPATES OR IS INVOLVED.
