The church's work focuses on the salvation of sinners and the nurturing of believers. It operates primarily in neighbourhood of Penn, Bucks, including the nearby town of High Wycombe, but also engages in regular open air preaching in Slough, Uxbridge and central London.

Charitable objects
THE PURPOSES OF PENN FREE METHODIST CHURCH SHALL BE 1) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOCTRINAL STATEMENT IN THE GOVERNING DOCUMENT, PRIMARILY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN PENN AND THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBOURHOOD, AND 2) SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS SHALL IN THE OPINION OF THE MEMBERS' MEETING AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GOVERNING DOCUMENT FURTHER THE WORK OF THE CHURCH.
