TO ASSIST BY WAY OF GRANT OR LOAN PERSONS IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES WHO ARE IN FINANCIAL NEED: A) THE WIDOWS, WIDOWERS AND DEPENDANTS OF ANY DECEASED PERSON WHO AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH WAS A CLERK, DEACONESS OR LICENSED LAYWORKER WORKING IN THAT CAPACITY IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK OR WHO AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH WAS RESIDENT IN THE DIOCESE AND WHO HAD AT ANY TIME PREVIOUS THERETO BEEN WORKING IN THAT CAPACITY IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK; B) THE HUSBANDS, WIVES AND DEPENDANTS OF ANY CLERK, DEACONESS OR LICENSED LAYWORKER WHO IS WORKING IN THAT CAPACITY IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK AND WHOSE MARRIAGE HAS BROKEN DOWN
