1.TO RELIEVE THE CHARIABLE NEED, HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS AMONG: A. CLERGY WHO RESIDE OR SERVE, OR HAVE SERVED, IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK AND THEIR DEPENDENTS; B. DEPENDENTS OF DECEASED CLERGY WHO WERE AT THE TIME OF THEIR DEATH RESIDENT IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK AND HAD AT ANY TIME PREVIOUS THERETO SERVED IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK; C. THE FORMER SPOUSES AND PARTNERS OF CLERGY WHO SERVE IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK, WHO HAVE NOT SUBSEQUENTLY REMARRIED OR ENTERED INTO A CIVIL PARTNERSHIP; D. STIPENDIARY LICENCED WORKERS WHO SERVE OR HAVE SERVED IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK AND THEIR DEPENDENTS; E. RETIRED, FORMER STIPENDIARY, LICENCED LAY WORKERS WHO RESIDE IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK AND THEIR DEPENDENTS; F. THE SPOUSES, PARTNERS AND DEPENDENTS OF DECEASED STIPENDIARY LICENSED LAY WORKERS WHO WERE AT THE TIME OF THEIR DEATH RESIDENTS IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK AND HAD AT ANY TIME PREVIOUS THERETO SERVED IN THE DIOCES OF YORK; AND G. THE FORMER SPOUSES AND PARTNERS OF STIPENDIARY LICENCES WORKERS WHO SERVE IN THE DIOCESE OF YORK WHO HAVE NOT SUBSEQUENTLY REMARRIED OR ENTERED INTO A CIVIL PARTNERSHIP. 2. IF AND INSOFAR AS THE INCOME OF THE CHARITY CANNOT BE APPLIED TOWARDS THE OBJECT ABOVE IT MAY BE APPLIED IN FURTHERING THE RELIGIOUS AND OTHER CHARITABLE WORK OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND IN BENEFIT.
