Charitable objects
3.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 3.1.1 THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION IN PARTICULAR FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CHILDREN OF THE PARISH OF STRENSALL AND TOWTHORPE, NORTH YORKSHIRE (?THE AREA OF BENEFIT?) AND PARTICULARLY THE PUPILS OF THE ROBERT WILKINSON PRIMARY ACADEMY OR ANY SUCCESSOR BY: (A) MAKING AVAILABLE LAND BELONGING TO THE CHARITY, AS DETERMINED BY THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME, FOR USE BY THE SAID SCHOOL); (B) THE PROVISION OF SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE, FINANCIAL OR OTHERWISE, FOR SUCH CHILDREN AND/OR THE SAID SCHOOL AS THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT OR IN ORDER TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF THOSE AGED UNDER 25 AND IN NEED, RESIDING IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT OR SURROUNDING AREAS, PREFERENCE BEING GIVEN TO PUPILS AND FORMER PUPILS OF THE SAID SCHOOL; AND (C) IN THE EVENT THAT THE SAID SCHOOL OR ANY SUCCESSOR IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED, THE TRUSTEES MAY MAKE LAND AVAILABLE UNDER 3.1.1(A) FOR ANY OTHER SCHOOL OR SCHOOLS WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND MAY PROVIDE SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE PURSUANT TO CLAUSE 3.1.1(B) WITHOUT PREFERENCE TO FORMER PUPILS OF THE SAID SCHOOL AND/OR PUPILS AND FORMER PUPILS OF ANY OTHER SCHOOL WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND/OR TO PERSONS UNDER 25 AND IN NEED, AND RESIDING IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT OR ITS SURROUNDING AREAS; AND 3.1.2 THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED BY VIRTUE OF POVERTY, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS AND RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT OR SURROUNDING AREAS BY THE PROVISION OF ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT (FINANCIAL OR OTHERWISE) IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT, PROVIDED THAT THE TRUSTEES SHALL NOT BE OBLIGED TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE ABOVE OBJECTS WHICH OUGHT OTHERWISE BE PROVIDED BY THE STATE (WHETHER THROUGH CENTRAL OR LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHERWISE).
