Charitable objects
1. THE PROMOTION OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN THE NIDDERDALE AREA OF NORTH YORKSHIRE BY PROVIDING HELP, TRAINING, ADVICE AND OTHER SUPPORT TO CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ‘THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR’MEANS CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS. • CHARITIES ARE ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. • VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES. 2. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC OF NORTH YORKSHIRE, WITH A FOCUS ON NIDDERDALE, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF A COMMUNITY LIBRARY AND ASSOCIATED SERVICES 3. THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED BY REASON OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE, IN PARTICULAR BY: A. PROVIDING A COMMUNITY CAR SCHEME FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DIFFICULTY ACCESSING PUBLIC TRANSPORT, AND/OR PEOPLE WHO ARE DISABLED OR INFIRM, INCLUDING THE ELDERLY; AND B. PROVIDING HELP AND ADVICE TO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN CHARITABLE NEED THROUGH THE PROVISION OF A RESOURCE CENTRE, WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A COMMUNITY LIBRARY. 4. SUCH OTHER PURPOSES AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DECIDE.
