Jazz North is the development agency for jazz in the north of England working with, and on behalf of, the jazz sector to promote sustainable careers for northern musicians. We share, create and distribute information, events and opportunities and support the development and performance of the art-form through the provision of learning opportunities, conferences, tour support and other activities.

Charitable objects
(A) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN JAZZ MUSIC, PRIMARILY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND, THROUGH PROGRAMMES OF WORK WHICH ENABLE THE PERFORMANCE AND TEACHING OF A VARIETY OF FORMS OF JAZZ FROM ACROSS THE HISTORY OF JAZZ MUSIC AND BY PROMOTING AND DEVELOPING THE PUBLIC'S ARTISTIC KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF SUCH MUSIC AND OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN JAZZ AND OTHER MUSIC FORMS; AND (B) THE ADVANCEMENT IN LIFE OF YOUNG AND/OR EMERGING AND/OR STRUGGLING JAZZ MUSICIANS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS (PRIMARILY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THOSE BASED IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND AND INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THOSE MUSICIANS WHO WISH TO LEARN AND/OR PERFORM DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF JAZZ FROM ACROSS THE HISTORY OF JAZZ MUSIC) BY OFFERING PERFORMANCE AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO SUCH MUSICIANS AND BY SUCH OTHER MEANS AS THE DIRECTORS IN THEIR DISCRETION SHALL SEE FIT.
