THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE; TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN THE MINING HERITAGE OF KENT AND IN OLD AND NEW FORMS OF ENERGY, IN PARTICULAR GREEN ENERGY, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A MUSEUM ON THE FORMER COLLIERY SITE AT BETTESHANGER, KENT. TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE.
