Charitable objects
(I) To restore and thereafter conserve the decorative scheme of paintings and other decorations by the “Bloomsbury” artists, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and Quentin Bell, in the Grade 1 listed Church of St. Michael and All Angels, Berwick, East Sussex (“the Church”) together with the general fabric and environmental control of the Church as may in the opinion of the Trustees be reasonably necessary for the preservation of the decorative scheme, and maintain such for the education and benefit of all. (II) To advance the education of the public by promoting accessibility, understanding and research into the decorative scheme to be found in the Church, and further to keep alive the spirit for which the decorative scheme of the Church was originally produced by commissioning contemporary artists of any faith or none to produce sacred works (musical, visual, literary and performance) for specific contexts, or acquiring such works, to be enjoyed by the general public, and further to raise funds for alterations and extensions to the Church, for the provision of new buildings, and for the provision of a car park, to serve these purposes and the ministry of the Church with the local community and visiting groups. (III) To establish and maintain an endowment fund for the purpose of providing finance for the objects in (I) and (II) above.
