THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO FAMILIES AND PARTNERS OF POLICE OFFICERS AND POLICE STAFF WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES IN CONNECTION WITH POLICE DUTY, BY OFFERING PRACTICAL AND EMOTIONAL ASSISTANCE TO COPE WITH THE TRAUMA OF SUCH A DEATH.
