TO ADVANCE THE PUBLIC’S APPRECIATION OF THE ART OF FOLK MUSIC BY:
1. PROVIDING FOLK MUSIC ACTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO PERFORM AT CONCERTS, FESTIVALS AND OTHER EVENTS; AND
2. INCREASING PUBLIC ACCESS AND EXPOSURE TO FOLK MUSIC THROUGH DEVELOPING, PROMOTING AND ENCOURAGING ITS PRACTICE.
THE TERM “FOLK MUSIC” INCLUDES BOTH CONTEMPORARY AND TRADITIONAL FORMS.
