Charitable objects
THE PURPOSES OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH: 3.1.1. TO PROVIDE RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE TO THOSE IN NEED BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH OR DISABILITY, SOCIAL OR ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES, UNEMPLOYMENT, BEREAVEMENT OR BREAKDOWN IN RELATIONSHIPS; 3.1.2. TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF THOSE WHO ARE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED IN CHIPPING NORTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND HELP MEET THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY; 3.1.3. TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR INDIVIDUALS IN CHIPPING NORTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; 3.1.4. TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION BY PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE “SOCIALLY EXCLUDED” MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF ONE OF MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: UNEMPLOYMENT; FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; YOUTH OR OLD AGE; ILL HEALTH; SUBSTANCE ABUSE OR DEPENDENCY INCLUDING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS; POOR EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT; RELATIONSHIP AND FAMILY BREAKDOWN; POOR HOUSING (THAT IS HOUSING THAT DOES NOT MEET BASIC HABITABLE STANDARDS; CRIME (EITHER AS A VICTIM OF CRIME OR AS AN OFFENDER REHABILITATING INTO SOCIETY); 3.1.5. SUCH OTHER EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE DETERMINED BY THE CHARITY TRUSTEES.
