Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: (1) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY WORLDWIDE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGH, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH:- (A) THE PROVISION OF ADVICE, RESOURCES AND SERVICES; AND (B) THE PROVISION OF FOOD AND FUEL BANKS TO THOSE IN NEED. (2) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGH THE ESTABLISHMENT, ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT OF FACILITIES FOR EDUCATION. (3) TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE THROUGH SUCH SUPPORT AS THE TRUSTEES DEEM APPROPRIATE. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
